MEL YATES It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend Mel Yates on February 14, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital. Mels memory will be cherished by his loving wife Sue Yates; sons, Jeff (Bel) of Winnipeg, Rod (Barb), Doug (Bev) and daughter Georgina (Neil) Kroeker of Moose Jaw, Sask., step daughter Shelly (Jon) and step son Leslie (Dana) grandchildren, Todd (Terry), Tracy (Carlo) and Tyler also of Moose Jaw; great-grandchildren, Chris, Jocylen, Jaci and Brett. He will also be missed by his baby Paulie (his pet parrot). Mel will also be missed by his brother Irvin (Joan) of B.C.; sisters-in-law, Chris and Darlene; brothers-in-law, Bill (Susan), Myles (Leslie) his mother and father-in-law, Mike and Martha Elendiuk and good friends, Cindy and Anne. Mel served his country in the Second World War and worked for C.P.R. for 35 years upon his return. Then he worked for the city of Winnipeg for 15 years and Winnipeg Auto Auction for 12 years after that. He was a gentle man with a very keen sense of humour. He will be missed by all who knew him. Mels family would like to thank all the staff at 3 North and Dr. S. Mould at the Grace General Hospital, for their kind and compassionate care. In accordance with Mels wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
