MARY RAWLUK 1916 - 2001 Peacefully on Wednesday, February 14 at the Concordia Hospital with her family by her side our beloved Mom and Baba passed away at the age of 84 years. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Eleanor and son-in-law Bob Durward and grandchildren, Caren, Kevin, Krista and Colin; daughter Linda and son-in-law Bill Kellas and granddaughter Alison, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1990; parents, Domitrash and Domka Olynyk; sisters, Anna Nastiuk, Wasylyna Andrusiak and Alicey Gushulak. Mom was born on April 15, 1916 in Arbakka, MB. Her early years were spent on the family farm and later upon moving to Winnipeg she met Dad and they were married on July 31, 1942. Mom loved family gatherings, cooking, knitting, crocheting and tending to her vegetable and beautiful flower gardens. She was a loving, dedicated and supportive wife, Mom and Baba and her gentle spirit, kindness and generosity will be forever in our hearts. She was a longtime member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor of St. Mary The Protectress and the Ladies Auxiliary. Thank you to the caring and devoted staff at Concordia Place Care Centre, 2nd floor, where Mom enjoyed her time spent there. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Concordia Hospital, 3rd floor west, for their compassion shown towards our Mom and Baba. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Prayers will be on Sunday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor of St. Mary The Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. at Sinclair Street. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church, with Very Rev. Fr. M. Skrumeda officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, grandsons and nephews.
