Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryH. CLAYTON G. WILCOX On Thursday, February 15, 2001 Clayton Wilcox passed away peacefully at the Grace General Hospital. Clayton was born in Lashburn, Saskatchewan, July 7, 1913. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty of 57 years. Clayton moved to Winnipeg, with his mother, in 1925 and received his education at St. Johns College, now St. Johns Ravenscourt. He worked at the Anglican Summer Camp in Kenora, also the Indian Residential School in Chapleau, ON. Clayton joined the Royal Air Force in 1937. During the Second World War, he served in France, Iceland and the U.K. After 18 months in Malta during the siege of the island, he returned to Bomber Command. Following the war, he transferred to the R.C.A.F. for a year before joining CP Air and, in 1947, rejoined the R.A.F until his retirement in 1960. After returning to Winnipeg with Betty, he went into Real Estate with John Elders which became S.S. Stevensons. Clayton enjoyed the fellowship with The War Time Pilots and Observers Association of Winnipeg. Clayton had many hobbies such as golf, tennis, bridge and his real love, old automobiles. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Georges Church, Crescentwood, 168 Wilton St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claytons memory to St. Georges Memorial Fund Inc., or to a charity of ones choice.
