ELIZABETH GALLAGHER Suddenly, with her family by her side, Betty passed away at the Victoria Hospital on February 14, 2001 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by her husband John in August of 1999. Mom was born on December 17, 1929 in Cambuslang, Scotland where she came from a very large and loving family. It was there she met and married John, and soon after moved to Canada. John and Betty raised their five children in Winnipeg; John (Irene), Anita (Brian), Maureen (Rick), Donna (Phil), Caroline. As well as her children, she also has nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Mom enjoyed working for many years at the Deer Lodge Centre and made many close friends. Mom will be sadly missed by her family as well as her two brothers and three sisters in Scotland, one sister in Ottawa and particularly her sister Anne that has traveled through life close by her side. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital, Unit 5, with a special thanks to the I.C.U. Department and Dr. Thorlakson. Memorial service will be held on Monday, February 19 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends to follow at 71 Point West Drive. "Youre always in our hearts, Mom.
