OLGA SKOBY It is with deep sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Olga Skoby on February 16, 2001. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Laureene and son-in-law Fred Wonnick; grandchildren Heather, Kathy and husband Trevor Jakisch; great-grandchildren Ryan and Kevin. Also, sister Chris (Art) Singbeil; brothers John (Jean) Pestrick, Peter (Betty) Pestrick, Jim (Margaret) Pestrak and Stanley Pestrak; sisters-in-law Evelyn Pestrak, Marlene Pestrak, Doris Maliborski, Pearl Husky and Pauline Skoby; brothers-in-law Henry Singbeil and John Skoby; special niece Kathy Carlson, as well as other numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1967, son Arthur, daughter Joyce; sisters, Sophie, Kate, Mary, Pauline, two brothers, Fred, Michael, and sisters-in-law Ruby Pestrak, Nellie Skoby, Nettie Trybel; brothers-in-law Peter Skoby and John Maliborski. Olga was born in Fraserwood on February 24, 1914, married in 1931, and lived in Winnipeg until her peaceful passing. Olga was a generous Christian whose door was open to family, friends, and strangers in need. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank management, the staff and friends at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for their excellent care and kindness. Sincerest gratitude to Dr. Moran de Mueller, Canon Barbara Barnett and nursing staff at Deer Lodge Centre, wing 3E, for their kind support and compassionate care. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Thompson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Captains Wayne and Sharleen McTaggart of the Salvation Army officiating. Internment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, or a charity of ones choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
