Norma is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas; daughter, Carole of Winnipeg; son, William (Jan) and her two precious grandchildren, Steven and Angela of Toronto; and dearest friend, Rose Bernardi of Fort Frances, Ontario; and Caroles friend Donna of Winnipeg. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Gloria (Jack) Thomas of Neepawa, Irene Warkentin of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Margaret Riddick of Winnipeg and Ruth (Eric) Perkins of Rivers; brothers-in-law Robert (Joyce) Riddick of Modesto, California and Roy Orr of Brandon. Norma will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Spara and Bertha Ward; sisters, Jean Orr and Victoria Off; and brother, Elwood Ward. Norma graduated from Brandon Normal School in 1941. After teaching for four years she moved to Rivers, Manitoba, where she met Thomas. On February 28, 1947 they were married. Norma continued to teach for two more years until their family came along. She went back to teaching in Fort Frances, Ontario in 1965, until 1979 when they moved to Brandon. Norma was very active in her church, St. Georges Anglican in Brandon, and the Leprosy Mission of Canada until her death. She loved to read, golf, go for walks and bird watch. For the last 18 years Norma and Thomas spent every March in Florida. Norma will always live on in her daughter, Caroles life since she donated a kidney to her in 1972.
