ANASTASIA (NELLIE) KOMARANSKY It is with deep sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing at Victoria General Hospital, of their beloved mother and grandmother, Nellie, on February 15, 2001, after a lengthy illness. Mom was predeceased by her husband Mike Komaransky; parents, Fred and Anna Eastchuk; sister Anna Romanack; brother Mike Eastchuk; infant daughters, Irene and Jean. Nellie leaves to mourn her passing, sons, David Komaransky, Steve (Margaret) Komaransky; grandson Darryl Komaransky, all of Winnipeg; sister Mary Tkachuk of Minnedosa; and sister-in-law Teenie Eastchuk of Brandon. Nellie was born December 29, 1911 at Horod, MB, and received her schooling there. She was united in marriage to Mike J. Komaransky and together they farmed in the Petlura District for over 30 years. After retiring from the farm, Nellie lived at Roblin for several years before moving to Winnipeg. Nellie enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and especially caring for her family. Grandson Darryl was her pride and joy. She always enjoyed having a garden to watch over, and watching her favourite soap operas. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their excellent care, understanding and patience. Prayer service will be held Monday, February 19, 6:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home, Roblin. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 20 at 10:00 a.m. from St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Roblin, and interment will be held at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Parish Cemetery, Petlura. Memorial donations in memory of Nellie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
