Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMALVINA NEUFELD Malvina Neufeld peacefully entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2001 at Concordia Place Personal Care Home where she had been cared for with gentle compassion for the last eight and one half months. She was born in Einlage, Ukraine on June 24, 1900 to Cornelius and Anna Wiebe, and grew up in a loving home with her three sisters. In 1923 she married Gerhard Neufeld and in 1924 the young couple with a baby son emigrated to Canada. They lived for shorter periods of time in different places, and then settled in Gardenton, Manitoba for 17 years, where her husband worked at the Gardenton Milling Co. In 1949 they moved to Winnipeg where they operated the Oakland Grocery until 1969. Her husband died in 1979 and she remained in her home until 1992 when she moved to an apartment at Bethania House and remained there until May of 2000 when she could no longer be alone, and she became a resident of Concordia Place. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, her husband, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, one granddaughter and the husband of another granddaughter. She is survived by her children George and wife Bertha, daughter Wanda and husband Frank Neufeld, son Harry and daughter Agnes, as well as 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19 at 10:30 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch St. with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith and Life Communications, 200-600 Shaftsbury Blvd, R3P 2J1. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
