Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIVIAN ELIZABETH JOHNSON Peacefully, in her sleep, on Friday, February 16, 2001 at home, Viv passed away. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Ken, in May 1998. Vivian is survived by daughters, Margaret of Vancouver, Barb and husband Dave of Toronto and Trish and husband Gary of Winnipeg. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, Patrick and Morgan Christie and James and Samantha Bergal. In addition Viv leaves to mourn her passing, sisters, Blanche and Alice in New Brunswick and many relations and friends across the country. Viv was first and foremost dedicated to raising her children and was a devoted, hard-working wife and mother. Volunteerism was a hallmark characteristic of Viv and she devoted countless hours to The Chown Guild, the Brock Corydon Home and School Association, the River Heights Speed Skating Club, and the Manitoba Speed-Skating Association. Later in life, Viv returned to the workforce retiring from Warren, Still, and Johnstone in 1990. Viv was known for her vivacious spirit and all that knew her were charmed by her cheerfulness, her exuberance for celebrations, and her feistiness. While small in size she was strong in spirit! The Family wishes to thank the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, the Winnipeg Police Service, and the Medical Examiners Office for the care and respect they extended to Viv. We also thank Eve and Harold Christie, Tillie and Harley Bergal, and all her friends both old and new, for the affection they have shown to Mom. We are also indebted to the staff at The Waverley for making Moms last years fulfilling and content. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Family interment will be held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
