Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE WACHNIAN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Steve on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at the age of 74. Steve was born in Ledwyn, Manitoba on April 13, 1926. He was employed with Manitoba Hydro retiring at the age of 59. Steve was predeceased by his Dad Dymetro as a young boy, mother Mary, step-Dad Harry Sidon, brother Danny, sister Jessie Medwid, step-brothers Fred and Bill Sidon and sister Steffie. Survived by his wife Antonia of 48 years; son John (Karen) daughter Lori Sault; grandchildren, Tyler, Jennifer and Cielle; sister Ann Banach, Rose Gale (Russell) of Chicago, Liz Roziere (Roger) and Frances Sidon; many nieces and nephews. Steve was a devoted member of the Canadian Polish Athletic Club and C.P.A.C. Senior Club. He was treasurer for C.P.A.C. for many years. He was awarded the meritorious award and life membership. He enjoyed working at Bingos and working at Gull Lake in the spring. He liked to play cribbage with the boys and gardening was a hobby. Steve believed in the C.P.A.C. motto Building boys is better than mending men. He bowled for many years and looked forward to his winter vacations in Hawaii. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at 10:00AM at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Rev. Tony Maunder officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St. Wpg R3B 2H8.
