MIROSLAV ZDENEK NEMECEK Miroslav Zdenek Nemecek, at the age of 70 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 17, 2001. He is survived by his loving wife Anna of 46 years and his two children, Roman (Anne) and Alice (Bob McDonald) three grandchildren Gary, Cody and Kelsey; a niece and nephew and their extended families of Czech Republic. He was born in Hodonin, Czechoslovakia on November 10, 1930. He immigrated to Winnipeg with his family on February 14, 1969 with $15.00 in his pocket and one suitcase. An admirable feat by anyones standard. He embraced his new life in Canada with zest and pride. He was involved in the Czech association for many years as its President. He loved to travel across Canada and visited many other foreign countries with his life partner. He worked for CPR for 25 years where he was well respected. He had a great sense of humour and was VERY proud of his family, which was the joy of his life. You will be sadly missed Dad. We love you. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Sunday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Czech Benevolent Association, 154 McKenzie St., Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank Drs. Haiart and James Boyd for their kindness to Dad throughout his illness. Special thanks to all the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital who cared for Dad. A special mention to Celine, the VON nurse and Barb, who cared for him during his last few days at Riverview. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
