Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES EDWARD CLARKE It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Charles Clarke, on February 18, 2001 at Deer Lodge Centre. Charlie leaves behind his wife of 55 years Mary; daughters, Pat (Kent) Baker, Colleen (Bill) Elder and his five grandchildren, Heather, Evan and Kerry Baker, Dave and Craig Elder. He is also survived by his brothers, James and George and sister Madeline; his brothers and sisters-in-law Doug and Arlene Stewart and Don and Kathy Stewart. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Violet. He will be missed by his many friends who he always had time to share a joke with or lend a hand to. Charlie was born in Winnipeg and spent his youth there and his teens in Elm Creek until he enlisted in the navy at 17 and served his country for the duration of the Second World War. He worked for Labatts Brewery after the war, first on the trucks, then in the garage and finally in maintenance. Charlie spent many happy years with his family at the cottage at White Lake. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of 6E at Deer Lodge Centre. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 2:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway.
