JEAN GISTI Peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2001 Jean Gisti, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 92 with her loving family by her side. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her son Martin (Marlene) and her daughters, Margaret (Paul) Veldkamp, June (Bill) McKague and Audrey Pepin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kathy (Bob) Smith, Barry (Karen) Veldkamp, Ross (Robin) Veldkamp, Jeff Veldkamp (Susan), Gordon McKague, Warren (Alana) McKague, Lori (Bill) Mott, Patti McKague (Steve), Maureen (Chris) Jackson, Doug (Susan) Pepin, Brenda Harding, Kevin (Laura) Gisti, Joanne Gisti; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Curti and a niece and three nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband Alf, parents Walter and Jane Wilson, sons-in-law Ken Eyolfson and Ray Pepin, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Flo Wilson and brother-in-law Louis Curti. Jean was born in Scotland April 11, 1908 and came to Canada at the age of seven. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was admired for her caring and selfless nature. Her family was her pride and joy. She was especially proud when she made her hand-made quilts for her family and others. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans. She was a life time member of the W.I. and the Ladies Aid of Inwood, MB. Jean will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood with Pastor Barry Rasmussen officiating. Friends who so desire may make donations in Jeans memory to Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Inwood, MB or Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, MB. The family would like to thank the staff of Extendicare Oakview Place for the wonderful care she received while a resident. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, in care of arrangements.
