EVA KRAWCHUK

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA KRAWCHUK Peacefully, at the age of 102 years, with her loving family at her side, Eva Krawchuk passed away on February 21, 2001, at the Holy Family Nursing Home. Eva was born September 20, 1898 in Polova, Radehiv, Lvivski Oblast, Ukraine, the eldest child of Maxim and Paranka Karpynka. She immigrated to Canada on May 1923 and married Nicholas Krawchuk on August 12, 1923, with whom she spent the next 55 years. Eva was well-known in the Ukrainian community and a member of the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians for 76 years. She was very active in the Womens Branch of the organization. She was happiest when attending plays and concerts in her beloved Ukrainian culture. Eva was very supportive of her husband in his business, Custom Built Upholstering, for over 30 years. She greatly enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the U.S.A. She, however, took particular joy in the achievements of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eva was predeceased by her parents, her husband in 1978 and brothers Philip and Eugene. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Walter (Eileen), daughter Nadia (Ted) Bosak; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; also her sister Julia Sukaylo; brother Walter Karpinka; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Special thanks to the compassionate staff of Unit 4A of the Holy Family Nursing Home where Eva resided for the past five years. (Gimme Kiss, Gimme Kiss, Thank you!) Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Labor Temple, 591 Pritchard Ave. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Evas memory to Association of United Ukrainian Canadians, 591 Pritchard Ave., R2W 2K4, or the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen.
