Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD JOHN DEMIANYK On Tuesday, February 20, 2001, with his loving family by his side, Donald Demianyk passed away, at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous struggle with cancer. Don was born in Mair, SK on November 26, 1927. Don was employed by the Manitoba Power Commission and Manitoba Hydro for 40 years, retiring in 1986. Don leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 49 years, Catherine (Kay), daughter Donna and husband Garth Buchanan, son Donald Jr. and wife Carol, and son Richard and wife Maureen. Dons pride and joy are his five grandchildren, Tara, Shawn, Kyla and Jaclyn Demianyk, and Keelia Buchanan. He is also survived by mother Anastasia (Nellie) Mielitz, sister Barbara and husband Fred Millward, sister-in-law Jean Demianyk; two nephews, John Millward and Colin Demianyk and wife Carole (children Alex and Bryan) and mother-in-law Lena Zwozdeski. Don was predeceased by his father John, sister Edna, and brother James. The family would like to express their gratitude to the St. Boniface Hospital staff from 7A West and the Palliative Care Unit. A celebration of Dons life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, Saturday, February 24, at 3:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9, or Camp Kakepitay in care of Deaf Centre, 285 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2E1.
