Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST JOSEPH EDOUARD DURAND "ERNIE" After a sudden and brief illness, Ernest Joseph Edouard Durand passed peacefully away on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 57 years. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by Jocelyne (nee Moquin) his wife of 31 years; his daughters, Nicole Durand (fiance David Hart) and her son Austin, all of Portage, and Monalyne (Rodney) Thompson and their children, Christina and Cole, all from MacGregor; his father Henri and one brother Marcel, both of Willow Bunch, SK; two sisters, Doris OReilly of Scout Lake, SK and Aline (Henri) OReilly of Moose Jaw, SK; two sisters-in-law, Vivianne (Paul) Laurin and Claudette Moquin (Herman Bowman) of Winnipeg; and one brother-in-law Adrien of Beloeil, PQ. His memory will be cherished by many nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and "special daughters", Charitee Lesage, Dawn Morrish, Allison Ritchie, Krista Rey and Michelle Large and many friends. In keeping with Ernies wishes, cremation has taken place. Prayer vigil will be held at St. Johns Roman Catholic Church of Portage on Friday evening, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. led by Msgr. Maurice Comeault. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Wayne Morrissey, Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Johns Roman Catholic Church of Portage. Interment is to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Ernies memory to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Central Plains Chapter, Box 772, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3C2. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Ernie at Evergreen Memorial Gardens by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel who are entrusted with the arrangements.
