"You are my Sunshine" MALCOLM PETER DUBEK October 27, 1927 - February 22, 2001 Surrounded by his loving family at his side, Malcolm Dubek passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Malcolm leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 48 years Marie; four loving daughters, Dianne (Lawrence) Costik, Darlene (Arnie) Shipp, Linda, and Kathy (Mike) also left to mourn are his seven grandchildren, Chris, David, Aaron, Ashley, Cindy, Eric, Jason and great-granddaughter Olivea, and his 96 year old loving mother Dora; three sisters, Jean (Bill) Parypa of Surrey, BC, Mary Rubenuik of Windsor, ON, Madeline (Jeff) Brown of Winnipeg, and his beloved cat "Buttons". He was predeceased by his father George in 1966 and his brother-in-law Teras Rubenuik. After retiring from Mulder Construction in 1990, Malcolm and Marie enjoyed their summers at Tall Timber and spent their winters in Texas, where he had many friends. Malcolm always looked forward to spending his summers with his loving family, and found great joy spending time outdoors gardening and watching the birds. The family would like to thank Dr. Daeninck and Dr. Singer and the wonderful staff on the Palliative Care Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital with special thanks to Cinda, Colette, Gina, big Tim and Albert, and tiny Gertrude. Also a special thanks to Jeanette (Jim), and Marjan (Diana). Also to Wally (Barb) for all of their help traveling from Kenora to Winnipeg to comfort Malcolm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with Fr. Henryk Laciak officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Ward, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9. You were the best husband, dad, and grandpa.
