Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP SMITH Passed away at Deer Lodge Centre on February 17, 2001. Phil was born on January 15, 1921 in Langenburg, SK. He received his education in Winnipeg. Phil enlisted in the Canadian army in 1942 and served with The Royal Winnipeg Rifles until 1945. He was wounded in action in Holland. Phil was employed in the garment industry for 40 years working with many companies and making numerous friends through out his career. He enjoyed many years of retirement activity in Winnipeg with friends and family. The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by the nursing and support staff at the Deer Lodge Centre. Phil leaves to mourn his loving wife Georgina; sister-in-law Lillian Fairlie; nephews, Bryn and Maria Fairlie and family of Calgary, Daryl Fairlie and Dennis Maclean and family of Winnipeg. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or a charity of your choice.
