MYNNE EVELYN STOCKFORD WALKER Passed away peacefully, at home in her 89th year on February 22, 2001. Mynne was the beloved mother of David Walker and Linda Carrier Walker; dear grandmother of Ryan Walker, Renee Takacs, Regan Walker, Gabriel Carrier and Elie-Simone Carrier; great-grandmother of Christian and Leah Takacs; devoted and treasured friend of Hollie Stephenson-Kehler and family; remembered fondly by daughter-in-law Judy Taylor; loving aunt of Annette Walker, Mickey Walker, Pat Barkovich, Marion Suter, Donald Stockford and David Stockford. She was predeceased by her much loved husband James B. Walker. Min was born and raised in St. John, New Brunswick, the youngest of four children of Florence Jennie McEachren and Rev. Edwin Noble Stockford. The family is grateful for the care given by her dedicated Home Care team including nurses, Marleene and Ann and Caregivers, Roxanne, Lynn, Glenner, Stephanie, Nancy, Charleen, Pat, July, Sylvia, Maria and her neighbour Bev. She came to Winnipeg in 1950 and established a very happy and useful life in East Kildonan where she was closely involved in her community and church. Her children, grandchildren, friends and all who knew her remain forever grateful for her kind ways, indomitable spirit and positive outlook on life. She always chose to share a smile and a helping hand with whomever she met. Though all will miss her, she has left us better for having had her with us. Services will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Church, 220 Helmsdale, East Kildonan.
