RAGNAR SMITH HOLM It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ragnar Smith Holm at the age of 80 years. Ragnar was born on January 24, 1921 in Vidir, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Egill and Rosa Holm; brother Wilfred and his wife Bergrose. He leaves to mourn his brother Steinthor (Marguerite) sister Olga; two sons, Kenneth and Douglas; grandsons, Jeffery and Christopher; his sister-in-law Vilborg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Ragnar went out to work at an early age and worked at various jobs which included farm helper, fisherman (which he loved best), cooked in camps and on barges. He was well liked wherever he went and was popular among people. He had a lovely singing voice and continued singing into his old age. Ragnar moved to the Betel Home in Gimli in 1988 where he enjoyed good care, playing cards and many friends. He was also voted in as president of the Residence Council, a position he kept until his death. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
