Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMY ISABEL "LINDIE" KNUDSEN (nee LIMBRICK) On Saturday,February 24, 2001, at the age of 88, Lindie passed away at Grace General Hospital. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Ernest and Emily Limbrick, her husband Vern and her sister Doris. She is survived by her daughter Dorthea and son-in-law Tony Cutts; her son Brian and daughter-in-law Linda Guse; her grandchildren, Dan, Barry and Jane Knudsen; her nieces, Bodil Iversen in Denmark and Beth Champoux and her husband Lou in Ontario. Lindie was born in Portage la Prairie on June 1, 1912, and lived there until she entered the St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1934. She worked in private duty nursing until she married Vern in 1936. Lindie was a dedicated mother and grandmother, an accomplished seamstress, knitter and cook. She enjoyed reading, music, travel and gardening. She was active for many years in St. Aidans Anglican Church. As a family, Lindie and Vern and their children enjoyed their cabin at Wendigo on Lac du Bonnet and the lasting friendships that they made there. They especially valued their special friends from Spruce Street, Ivy and Gordon Speers and their children. Lindie treasured visits from her god-daughter Joan Cuddeford (Speers) and always appreciated her help and support. Lindie also had a wide circle of friends throughout Canada and the United States that she had made through Verns work in the aviation industry. Lindie had a very special relationship with her grandchildren, cherishing the time that she spent with them when they were young. Lindies grandchildren have fond memories of the bowl of jelly candies that was always waiting for them, the annual Christmas tree trimming evening (everyone had to be quiet for the Chipmunks Christmas Song), the traditional New Years Day dinner that she served. Lindie also spent many Christmases with Tony and Dorthea in Calgary, enjoying meeting their many friends. In keeping with Lindies wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will occur at a later date. Lindies Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 2 at 4:00 p.m. in St. Aidans Anglican Church, 274 Campbell St. Friends and family are invited to meet together after the service to share memories of Lindie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lindies memory to the Winnipeg branch of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3G 3M3.
