GUDNY (GWEN) VALERIE GILLESPIE (nee KJERNISTED) Peacefully, on February 25, 2001, Gudny (Gwen) Valerie Gillespie passed away with her family at her side at Calvary Personal Care Home. Gwen leaves to cherish her memory brothers Leonard of Port Alberni, Valdimar and wife Beverley of Stonewall; sister Shirley and husband William Baumgartner of Regina; sisters-in-law Eleanor, Lillian, and Elsie of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Skuli Jonasson of Winnipeg; step-son Brian Gillespie and his two children. To remember her with much love are 19 nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1984; her parents Carl and Lilja Kjernisted; her brothers Joseph, Clifford, Philip, and Carl; her sister Norma; her sister-in-law Paulie; her nieces Donna and Leslie; and great-niece Alana. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Bradley, Brent, and Lyle Kjernisted, Wes Shoemaker, and Dan Sanders. Honourary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews Todd, Steve, Joe, Paul, Julie, Paula, Brian, Barrie, Lori, Grant, Valerie, Janice, Joyce, Lorne, Lori, and Carla. Funeral service will be held on March 1 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service time. Interment and reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends should desire, donations may be made to Calvary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 3R6.
