GERTRUDE MILNE Peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank, Gertrude Milne, dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at age 92. Gertrude leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her daughters, Joyce (Lloyd) Wilde, Bev (Jay) Lumsden, Marlene Vanachte; son-in-law Steve Boriskewich; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; also two brothers, Mel and Frank Speer; three sisters, Olive Speer, Ruby Vernon and Hazel Edmonds. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, daughter Irene and son-in-law Dave. Gertie was born May 16, 1908 and resided in Springfield all of her life. She was a member of the Dugald United Church. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Rev. Jane Wetelainen officiating. Interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. The family wish to express their appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Kin Place and East Gate Lodge for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Kin Place Personal Care Home, Box 28, Oakbank, MB R0E 0J0. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
