Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ENG-LING YEE Robert Eng-Ling Yee passed away at home on Saturday, February 24, 2001, at the age of 93 years. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his son Norman (Helen) daughter Virginia (Christopher) and grandchildren, Daniel, Karen, Amy, Jana and Jason and many nephews and nieces. Robert was born September 14, 1908, in Toi Shan, China. He immigrated to Canada in 1921 at the age of 13 years and resided and received his education in Saskatoon, Sask. Robert was trained and worked both as an aircraft mechanic and a pilot. He was certified to fly the Avro Avian aircraft. In the 40s, Robert went back to China to marry and to work. While in China, he served as an aircraft inspector for the Chinese Air Force. In the 50s, Robert returned to Canada and entered the restaurant business. He operated and co-owned numerous restaurants in Winnipeg (the last one being the Maryland Cafe) until retirement. Viewing will be held between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4 at Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St. Funeral service will also be held at the chapel, 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, with the Reverend Wing Mak officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff, especially Ernie and Cathy, and many friends at the Courts of Columbus (Edgeland) for their friendship and kindness.
