Gudrun was born in Arborg, December 19, 1917 and at a young age helped out on the family farm, haying, harvesting and other chores. No task was too small or large for her. On March 1, 1938, she married Finnbogi and they spent 60 years together and in that time she joined him in the fish camps working as a cook for Sigurdson Fisheries. When her children were growing up she stayed home and kept busy at their little farm with a few animals and painted houses for other people, and of course her knitting. For many years she spun her own wool and made socks and mitts for the fishermen and farmers in the area. She also made wool comforters for anyone who wanted one starting from scratch with raw wool and carding it to perfection. She was a fun loving person, very musical playing guitar, piano and accordion. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3. Pastor Otto Christensen will officiate and the service will terminate at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Goda Nott Amma Hnausa
