Lillian was born in 1914 in Treherne, MB and received her early schooling there. She attended the Dominion Business College and worked for the City of Winnipeg in both the Law and Finance Departments. She was a member of the Winnipeg Tennis Club, Winnipeg Badminton Club and had enjoyed many years of square and round dancing. She was a member of Westworth United Church. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. Interment will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Treherne, MB at a later date. Box 2441, Stn. Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4A7. I Watched A Ship I watched a ship fade out of sight, Losing itself on the curving sea, And I cried, "It is gone!"; Like a bird in flight, it was lost to me. It was lost to me, yet I knew it still Was quite as tall in its mast and spar, That others on some remote bright shore Will watch from afar, crying "It comes!" Oh, you who weep for a loved one lost On the seas curved rim, There will be those who will surely Keep watch for him, And he will answer that welcoming call, Joyous and free, and not lost at all!
