BONNIE FAYE WALLS With great sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of Bonnie Faye Walls on Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at Selkirk General Hospital. Bonnie was born in Winnipeg on March 2, 1954. She attended school in Seven Sisters and graduated from Whitemouth Collegiate. In high school sports she excelled in volleyball and baseball. Upon graduation she was employed in the north for several years during the construction of Long Spruce Generating Station, where she met several lifelong friends. She backpacked through Europe for three months with her friend "Bunny," an experience she cherished for her lifetime. In the summer of 1979, together with her friend Valerie, Bonnie operated a restaurant in Seven Sisters. In 1980 she began employment as a Nurses Aide at Selkirk Mental Health Centre, where she developed an interest and pursued her career as a Psychiatric Nurse, from which she graduated in 1984. Bonnie was instrumental in the development of several work-related projects and had recently received a Certificate of Merit for her outstanding contribution as a member of the Consumer Advisory committee. Bonnie was an outgoing person and touched everyone that she came to know. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Bonnies pastimes included reading and crossword puzzles and one of her greatest pleasures was the company of her two dogs, Lisa and Raffles. Bonnie was predeceased by her sister-in-law Lynne Walls. She leaves to mourn her parents Florence and Webster Walls of Teulon; her brothers and sister, Al (Grace) Walls of Victoria, BC, Bob Walls, John (Bev) Walls, Gord (Marilyn) Walls, and Marilyn (Kevin) Naismith; nieces and nephews, Shayne, Samantha, Jeremy, Traci, Brenna, Noreen, Jonathan, Danielle (god-daughter), Scott, Sarah and Emma. She will be sadly missed and ever remembered by them. The family extends their appreciation to Bonnies co-workers and friends who have been so very thoughtful and supportive to her and to all of us. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg R3C 4G2. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, with Chaplain Mary Holmen officiating. Viewing on Sunday, March 4 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Cremation will take place following the service. We shall be with you in the fellowship of the spirit and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the road of happy destiny. May God bless you and keep you - until then. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
