C.W. "KELLY" McKITRICK Peacefully, on February 27, 2001 at Rock Lake Personal Care Home, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away in his 82nd year. Kelly was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Jean (Coleman), in 1987 and his younger brother Gordon in 1950. Left to mourn his passing are his four children, Bill (Cheryl) McKitrick of Crystal City, MB, Maureen (John) Finney of Humboldt, MN, Jim McKitrick of Buenos Aries, Argentina, and Jeanette (Jim) McFarlane of Calgary, AB; seven grandchildren, Kristal, Jarrid, Marla, Kristen, Matthew, Coleman, and Jayme, and one great-grandson MacKenzie. Kelly is also survived by his sister Jean; brother Jack; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kelly was born in 1918 south of Crystal City, MB. He resided in the area throughout his life, where he pursued his passion for farming. Even after being stricken with polio in 1953, Kelly was determined to return to the area to continue his interest in agriculture. For 35 years, he owned and operated a farm implement dealership in the area and continued to farm when the opportunity arose. Whether he was custom combining or maintaining a small "hobby" farm with his sons, Kelly was always happiest in the field. Kelly had a keen interest in sports and particularly enjoyed minor hockey and baseball. He loved weekend camping trips, fishing, and writing poetry. Kellys door was always open, and he especially loved spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 at the Crystal City United Church in Crystal City. Rev. Allan Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow the service in Crystal City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made to the Rock Lake Personal Care Home or the Rock Lake Health District Palliative Care Program. Grahams Funeral Service of Pilot Mound in care of arrangements.
