Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYOLANDA FLORES AVERION Died on March 1, 2001, after a lingering illness, at St. Michaels Hospital, Toronto. Born on July 4, 1949 in Sta. Rosa, Alaminos, Laguna, Philippines. She is survived by her loving children, Menilyn (Elioterio Dumanan) and Jocelyn (Dennis Melendez) caring parents, Miguel and Emilia Averion; loving sisters, Celia (Raymundo Avena) and Esther (Abner Puhawan), all from Winnipeg; caring brothers, Nestor (Lina), Philippines, and Virgilio (Mila), Calgary; grandchildren, Jamie Dumanan, Erika Melendrez, and Jasmine Melendrez; as well as nine nieces and nephews. She will be missed by numerous godchildren, countless friends, and many relatives. Ms. Averion graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from San Pablo College, Philippines. She taught in Calamba and Sta. Rosa, Alaminos elementary schools (Philippines). She was actively involved with the Chancel Choir, the Tagalog Bible Study group, and the Evangelistic work of Hillcrest Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Lamay will be held on Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8 from 7:00 p.m. to midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 9 at Broadway Disciples United Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Reception will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
