Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH JOHN DUMA Joseph Duma, aged 83 years, beloved husband of Rose of Beausejour, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, March 1, 2001 at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour. His memory will be cherished by his wife Rose of 59 years of marriage, son Clifford (Corliss) and Beverley (Earl) Zechel; grandchildren Peggy (Leonard), Kareen (Troy), Curtis, Wesley (Carrie), Kevin, and Vanessa; great grandchildren Samantha, Wyatt, Heather, Curtis, and Syngin; his brothers Eddie (Alexis), Casey, Tony (Elsie), Gene (Eleanor), and Larry (Sally) and his sisters Helen Struss, Carol (Paul) Mazur, Dallas (Tony) Beigun, and sister-in-law Betty. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Julia and his brother Frank. Joe was born on November 9, 1917 at his homestead in Brokenhead. He farmed until his retirement to Beausejour. His hobbies included playing violin, taxidermy, picking cranberries and planting trees. He also accompanied the parish priest caroling at Christmastime, for 25 years. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe also did carpentry and loved to make bird houses. He loved bird houses and all wild life. Dad was a loving person who went out his way to give neighbours and friends a helping hand whenever they needed it. Prayers will be said on Sunday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren Wesley, Kevin, Vanessa, Curtis, Troy and Leonard. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Mb. R3C 4G2 or to a charity of ones choice.
