JOSEPH (JOE) MANDRICK Peacefully on Friday, March 2, 2001, we announce the passing of Joe Mandrick at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 77. He leaves to mourn his passing wife Adele; daughter Kim and husband John of Oakbank; grandsons, Christopher and Evan; son Darrell of Vancouver; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father William; mother Maggie; four brothers, Steve, Mike, John and Bill and one sister Anne. As a young man in his late teens, he served overseas with the Armed Forces for a couple of years. He was employed with the Royal American Shows, Murphy Brothers Exposition, and was a member of the "Showmans League of America" of which he was president for a period of time. In the off season, he became an avid bowler and curler. As the years passed, he built a close relationship with his grandchildren. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Bruhart, Bobby Doski, Michael Mandrick, Gene Kohut, Orest Kohut and Bob Macarther. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for making Joes stay as comfortable as possible until his last day. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, St. Nicholas Church Maintenance Fund, or the Heart and Stroke Fund. Joseph was a kind, gentle and giving person.
