Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON JOHN LESLIE JARVIS April 19, 1921 - February 28, 2001 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved father, grandfather, brother and uncle Gordon J.L. Jarvis. With Gods grace he was taken from us peacefully. Gordon will be deeply missed by son Mel; daughter-in-law Donna; granddaughter Pam (Stephen): sister Eunice (Ed) nieces, Gloria, Sheryl and nephews, Allan and Ron, along with their respective families and friends. Gordon was predeceased by his adoring wife Grace Beatrice Jarvis. Gordon was born and raised in Manitoba and moved numerous times with Grace during their life together. Gordon served as a pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and was employed as a Captain with Air Canada/Air Jamaica for 29 years. During retirement, Gordon loved to tinker with old cars, fix what needed to be fixed, read, listen to music and enjoy the daily pleasures of life with Grace. For those who knew Gordon ; is to remember his loving spirit, concern for others, fabulous sense of humour and demeanour as an absolute gentleman. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion for their kindness and care. A service in honour of Gordons memory will be held at the Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Colwood, B.C. on Monday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Hatley Memorial Gardens, Victoria, B.C. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish, may make a donation in Gordons memory to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation, #1 - 947 Fort Street, Victoria, B.C. V8V 3K3.
