LILLIAN KING In her 75th year on February 28, Lillian Ida King peacefully passed away surrounded by those she loved. She came into the world the daughter of George and Thelma Edgeworth. She was raised in the rural community of Westbourne. She left to attend business college and in 1945 married John Henry King and moved to Carberry. They had two children, Jack and Shirley. The family moved to Winnipeg and when the children began school, Lillian worked for the Federal Department of Plant Products as a Clerk 4 until her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brother Richard and sister Adelaide (Leonew). She is survived by her brother George Edgeworth (Ann) and their children Dick (Brenda) and Ian. Mom taught by example. Her ever-ready wit and humor made her fun to be around while encouraging others to be alert and observant. Her sense of devotion to family was never more apparent than her care for her mother and Aunt Annie in the years before their passing. At the end her perserverence of great physical obstacles with a quiet resolve demonstrated inner strength and character. She fondly recalled daytrips with Doug and Shirley around the province and her Tuesday movies with Jack and Jan. The precious love of her grandchildren, Sean (Kim) and Shannon (Geoff) and great-grandchildren Kyra, Caelin and Signe. They gave her soul and spirit respite from her physical struggle. The family acknowledges the kindness of Dr. Latosinsky, her surgeon and guide at the Health Science Centre. We are indebted to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their respectful care of mom. Cremation has taken place in accordance with Lillians wishes. A private family remembrance is planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to CancerCare Manitoba at 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg. Forever loved and remembered.
