ARTHUR DORGE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Arthur Dorge, beloved husband of Marceline "Marcy" (Grenier), on Thursday, March 1, 2001, at the Victoria General Hospital. His memory will be cherished by his wife Marcy of 49 years; daughter Louise (Garry) Watson, son Michel (Monique), and grand-children, Cheryl (fiance Marcel), Christopher (friend Brandi), Aja-Louise and Thelonious. Predeceased by his parents; brothers Joe, Henry and Lucien. Survived by his sister Cecile (Leon) Kenny; his brothers Anthony (Isobel), Albert (Therese), and Aurele; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Art was born on March 30, 1928 in Ste. Agathe, Man. He worked on the family farm as well as other neighbouring farms during his school years. His passion for mechanics led him to work for his brother Henrys auto repair business, followed by employment with Dickson Motors, eventually owning a service station with his brother Lou. He retired in 1986. He enjoyed many years helping his numerous loyal customers and made many friends along the way. Since his retirement, Dad has enjoyed spending quality time with his family and grand-children. He loved to travel, (driving was another of his passions), enjoying frequent trips to Las Vegas with Mom, or just going for long drives in the countryside. He enjoyed being a member of the Red River Seniors group, meeting Thursday afternoons at Christ the King Church, as well as community camaraderie at St. Vital Shopping Centre. The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at the Victoria General Hospital who cared for Dad with kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Cheryl, Barb, Carol, Carla, Alex and Sherie. Cremation has taken place. A service of Remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7 at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Marys Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
