WALTER GERALD SANDISON With great sorrow we regret to announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle Walter Gerald Sandison on March 1, 2001. He was predeceased by his wife Florence; son Brent; mother Sarah; father Clifford; sisters and brothers. He leaves to mourn his children, Geraldine (Frank), Robert (Dorothy), Douglas (Marcella), Allan (Ilene), Darren and Fern (John) one sister Patricia (Chris) also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Walter was born on December 25, 1932 and spent most of his childhood and teen years on the farm with his aunt and uncle in Winnipeg Beach. When he grew up he began truck driving until the early 1970s, when he started his own roofing company. At that time he moved his family out to Winnipeg Beach, where he spent the next twenty years working for the Highways Department. After that he came back to Winnipeg, where he worked for the Salvation Army where he drove truck well into the late 1980s. At that time, he retired. He was a gentle, caring, loving person who made a friend easily. He enjoyed his retirement. He would like to play cards and bingo, go driving, watch classic cars or just spend time listening to the radio. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St. Viewing will be one half hour prior to service. Intertment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clifford Sandison, Dave Young, Robert McTavish, Gerald Bouchard, Paul Bouchard and Dan Houghton.
