JAMES WILFRED "JIMMY" MAH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Jimmy, peacefully at his residence in Kenora on Saturday March 3, 2001, at the age of 51 years. Jim was predeceased by his father Thomas and a daughter Monique. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Thomas (Pamela) Mah and their daughter Jessica; his mother and stepfather Theresa and John Arichteff; three brothers, Gerry (Nicole) Mah, Tommy Mah and Teddy Arichteff. He also leaves to mourn his stepchildren, Ashley and James, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Jim was born on September 26, 1949, in Winnipeg where he was also raised and educated. He worked in numerous jobs throughout his lifetime, but his passion was professional driving. Jim was a Winnipeg Transit driver for number of years and soon got into Semi-trailers where he was employed at the time of his passing by Trans X Trucking Line in Kenora, Ont. Other passions were his love of fishing where he owned and ran the chip stand and bait shop at the Selkirk Docks for a time. Jim had a deep passion for hockey from the late 70s to mid-80s with his organizing and coaching of a mens industrial and tournament hockey team called the Winnipeg Magnums which found much success in its brief history. He also coached a minor hockey peewees team in which his son Thomas was involved with for a time. Just last Thanksgiving at family dinner Jim talked about having a reunion social for all of the old Magnum players. Those who got to know Jim knew of his zest for life and his live-for-today attitude; Jim never worried about tomorrow. Jim was a people person and he had a heart of gold, always there for family and friends and very proud of his boy Thomas. In the last couple of years of his life he had an undying love for Ashleys two young children and was there for them right till the end. We are deeply going to miss what next adventure you were going to get into Jim, but we know where ever you are you have already made a host of friends and are organizing some thing or other. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. In lieu of flowers donations in Jims memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
