Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN MARTHA JOHANSON Peacefully with her family at her side on March 5, 2001 at the Selkirk & District General Hospital, Helen Johanson, aged 74 years of Selkirk, beloved wife of Dr. Lorne Johanson. Helen was born on June 28, 1926 in Windsor, Ont., and raised as a young girl in Kelvington, Sask. After completion of High School she proudly served her country in the C.W.A.C. from 1943 to 1946 in Halifax, N.S. Helen and Lorne were married on October 18, 1946. They resided in Buchanan, Sask., Marquette, Mich., Milwaukee, Wisc., and Selkirk, Man. since 1959. Helen was a very beautiful, loving, kind and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very private type of person. Helen enjoyed her home in Selkirk, her summers spent with family at their cottage on Lake Winnipeg at Beaconia and her and Lornes travels to Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica and trips to Florida, California, Michigan, Wisconsin and Seattle, Washington. Besides her loving husband Lorne of almost 55 years, she is survived by daughters, Wendy (Charles) Kesler, Joan (Tom) Parson; and sons Jim and Jeff. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Herb Hall, sisters Joan Wright and Mona Provo and brother Frank Hall. She is survived by brothers Gordon Hall of Amaranth, William Hall of Calgary and sister Mildred Petersen of Wynyard, Sask. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A private family interment of her ashes will take place at a later date in the Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. A very special thanks to Selkirk Ambulance personnel, nursing staff on the Medical Ward and Dr. Andrew Wozny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
