Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT (HAROLD) SAYCE Harold peacefully passed away after battling illness for several months. Harold passed away at the age of 79, at the Victoria General Hospital on March 4, 2001. Born in Liverpool, England on March 14, 1921, he arrived in Canada at the age of 26. Harold was a member of the British Royal Navy during the Second World War and while stationed in Vancouver B.C. he met his wife Doris. After the war, Harold went to work as an engineer at Imperial Oil in Sarnia, ON, where he lived for over 35 years. Harold was a member of the St. James Legion Branch No. 4 and A.N.A.F. No. 283. He will be lovingly remembered by Doris, his wife of 56 years, and his son Eric and daughter-in-law Louise. He also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews in England, British Columbia, and Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Catherine, his brother Frank and sisters Rose and Frances, all of England. The family would like to express our special thanks to Dr. A.P. Thottingal and nurses and staff of Victoria General Hospital, 5th floor, especially Wendy, Maxine, and Denise for the attention and care given to Harold during his hospital stay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Cremation has taken place in accordance with Harolds wishes. A memorial service for Harold will be held on Friday, March 9 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with a reception to follow.
