ALAN SINCLAIR ODDY B.Eng., M.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng. In Ottawa, at age 44, after a valiant fight with cancer. A graduate of Canterbury High School and Carleton University, Alan began his career at the Dockyard Research Establishment Atlantic in Halifax. He also worked at Acres Consulting Services Ltd. in Niagara Falls and was a post-doctoral fellow and employee of the Materials Technology Laboratory of Natural Resources Canada. After completing a research associateship at Carleton University he started his own company, OMNIS in 1993. Much loved husband and research partner of Moyra (McDill). Very, very proud father of Sarah, Andrew and Carolyn. Dear son of Lorna and Leonard Oddy. Cherished grandson of Lillian (the late Stanley) of Winnipeg and the late Janet and Angus Cameron. Brother of Patricia (Bruce Boyd), Douglas (Yolond), Susan (Randy Scott), and Catherine (Brian Kelly). Uncle and sandcastle builder for Brian, Alan, Steven, Tina, Cameron, Lee, Chris, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Nicholas, Scott, Samantha, Christine, and Elizabeth. Friends may attend a memorial service at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Dr., Ottawa, ON, on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. Fellowship in the Parish Hall afterward. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to Alans special causes: The Owl Foundation, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, The Brain Tumour Association, The Hospice at May Court, or the Elizabeth Bruyere Health Centre.
