Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN PROCTOR With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother Joan Proctor, at her residence on Monday, March 5, 2001, with her family at her side. Mom fought a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed by her seven children, Carol Webster (Terry), Victoria Kien (Glen), Patricia Ferris (Tom), Robert Proctor (Jan), Michael Proctor (JoAnn), Keith Proctor (Fiona), Christine Shirley (Jim) also ten grandchildren, Kent Ferris (Katherine), Cynthia Ferris (Lance), Michael Kien and fiancee Nadine, Jennifer Kien, Alissa Proctor, Lorena Proctor, Melody Proctor, Stefany Shirley, Dylan Shirley, Jasmine Proctor and two great-granddaughters, Miranda Ferris, Natalee Ferris; also two sisters and one brother in England. Mom was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1994, her parents and one sister. Mother was born January 17, 1924, in Fulham, London, England. She was the third child of five to Harry and Theresa Allen. Mom met Dad in 1942 at the age of 18 during the Second World War in Englandthen on January 22, 1944, they were married. In August 1944 she came to Canada to be reunited with Dad. Mom was an avid sports fan, which included the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Bombers. She also loved Rock n Roll music. Whenever she celebrated her birthday she was always 39 and a bit. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. M.L. Cummings for his compassionate care of our mother for these past two years. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. What I would give if I could say, Ill go and see my Mom today, To see her face and loving smile, To sit and talk with her awhile. I miss you Mom, I always will, And when my life is through, I pray that God will take my hand, And lead me straight to you.
