MARY DAVIES Peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 Mary Davies passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 94 years. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Davies; her sisters, Anne and Betty; her brother David. She leaves to cherish her memory, many cousins in Wales, British Isles; niece Patricia Louise and nephew Thomas Richard with their respective spouses and families; also dear friends. Mary was born in Swan River, Manitoba, December 16, 1906. She received her elementary and High School education at Durban Consolidated School, furthering her education in Winnipeg to become a teacher. Mary taught many years at the Elementary level at Durban School, Sturgeon Creek School and Linwood School in St. James. She ended her teaching career as Vice- Principal of Linwood School. In retirement Mary enjoyed volunteer work, reading material on tape for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, phoner for blood at the Red Cross Clinic, church work for U.C.W. of Knox United Church. Throughout her life Mary enjoyed many activities related to music, travel and the theatre. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Flowers gratefully declined.
