FRANCES STEFANIUK (nee NYZNYK) On Wednesday, March 7, 2001, Frances Stefaniuk passed away peacefully at the St. Josephs Residence, age 92 years. She was born on September 22, 1908 in Sarto, MB. Frances was predeceased by her husband Michael on March 19, 1979; her three brothers, Michael, Carl, Leonard and one sister Josephine. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Frances leaves to cherish her memory her son Robert (Lily) Stefanick of Winnipeg; her daughter Joanne (Bill) Angus of Westbank, BC; grandchildren, Wendy Stewart of Langley, BC, Gary and Leslie Angus of Vancouver, BC; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Breanne Stewart; sisters, Martha Presnak and Theresa (Bud) Kuryk of Winnipeg; brothers, Peter (Anne) Nyznyk of Winnipeg and Paul (Leona) Nyznyk of Nepean, ON; numerous relatives and friends. Frances was a pioneer member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church. She was also a member of the Main St. and Selkirk Ave. Seniors Centres where she enjoyed playing bingo. Frances was a wonderful homemaker with special skills in cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Funeral service will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 12 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Rev. D. Kawiuk officiating. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Korban Funeral Chapel Reception Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Josephs Residence, 1149 Leila Ave., Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs Residence for their care.
