Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCECILLE MAY JOHNSON September 12, 1912- March 7, 2001 Our mother, amma and longamma left her earthly journey on March 7, 2001, at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 88 years. Cecille will be much missed by her children, Pauline Paulson, Winnipeg; Carol Hanson (Alex), McCreary; Calvin Johnson (Lynda), Winnipeg and daughter-in-law Margaret Paulson, Kenora, Ont.; her seven grandchildren, Lyle Armstrong (Teri), Florida; Dana Habke (Mike Monzon), Geraldton, Ont.; Ragnar Paulson (Jennifer), Barrie, Ont.; Roxanne Comeau (Adrien), Nepean, Ont.; Joanne Gross (James), Ile de Chene, Man.; Shannon Adam (Darren), Winnipeg; Jennifer Johnston (Chris), Brandon. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Jade Armstrong, Regina, Sask.; Caitlin Habke, Lauren, Katie and Julie Paulson, Hudson and Josee Comeau, Paige Adam and Carlie Johnston; brothers, Patrick Wood and Isaac Wood of Red Lake, Ont., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents John and Mildred Wood; her beloved husband John Johnson; son Johann Paulson; infant son Paul Paulson and her siblings, Maggie Anderson, Gertie Clark, Mildred Neison, Maimie Olson, Burma Lauder, Winnie Bell, John Wood, Robert Wood and Albert Wood. Cecille was born in Manigotogan, Man., moving to Hecla Island in her teens. She moved to northern Manitoba in 1941, remaining there for the next 30 years before retiring to Winnipeg in 1971. Cecille served as post mistress of Thicket Portage for many years as well as co-owner of Johnsons General Store. She took an active interest in the life of the community and the well-being of her family. Mom was a hard working, independent woman with a wide variety of interests and skills. We will miss her calm strength and steadiness under duress. She had a sense of adventure which she indulged through travel in her later years. A celebration of Cecille Mays life will be held on Monday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St., Winnipeg, Man. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for their kind care of our mother.
