Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCY EDITH GILLIES It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of my beloved wife, mother and grandmother, at age 89 on March 9, 2001 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Lucy was born on June 8, 1911, at Dropmore, Manitoba in the Grainsby District where she completed her education. She was the twin daughter of William and Edith Wardle and was predeceased by her twin sister Mary Jolliffe on June 3, 1989; her brother Jesse John Wardle on July 14, 1994 and a son Kenneth Malcolm at the age of 12, on January 13, 1953; interred in the Transcona Cemetery. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mac, in a marriage of over 63 years; her son Boyd (wife Emily) grandchildren, David (Marsha) and Erin and many relatives and close friends. Mom touched the hearts of many in her lifetime. She worked hard all her life but rarely complained. She was an avid knitter, enjoyed cooking and always prided in keeping her home neat and tidy. This earned her the family nickname of "Miss Neat". She always gave of her talents to her family and friends and was always a good "listener." We shall miss your courage, strength and love. You will always be in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Bardal Funeral Home with Mrs. Catherine Kinsman officiating. Interment was held at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg R3C 2B7. Thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and the 4th floor staff for the excellent care and support. Arrangements are entrusted to: BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474
