JOSEPH CHAMBERS August 19, 1932 - March 8, 2001 Peacefully, and with great courage, after a short battle with cancer, we mourn the passing of our Husband, Father, Grandfather and Uncle. Joseph was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended St. Johns and Tec Voc schools. While working at Dominion Bridge, from which he retired in 1994, he made numerous friends, and shared some of his many interests such as hunting and snowmobiling. He was a man, who loved to build or do anything with his hands, especially woodworking. He had a passion for the outdoors, as well as, his various pets. He was a proud supporter of local hockey, of which he rarely missed a game his grandsons played in. His noise makers have been heard in many a hockey rink. For all his many friends, who knew him, there was something they all knew, his heart was extremely generous, his word always true, his laughter so sincere and he always had his wit followed by that smile which everyone knew. For the last 12 years, Joe and Joyce spent their life together building a dream, which started for them some 43 years ago, when they were married. Their dream home and property soon became a place for grandchildren, Kelly, Steven, Ashley, Nickolas and Emma. Grandpa and Grandmas home was a place of many projects and jobs, in which somehow, he was able to turn work into fun and couldnt keep his grandchildren from wanting to help out. Joseph will be dearly missed by all his friends, family, wife Joyce "Sam"; daughter Jackie (Jim) son Wayne (Taylor) nieces and nephews, Janie, Michael (Debi), Linda, Doreen, Eugene (Shannon), David and Dale; as well as sisters and brothers-in-law, May, Jean, Nell, Ruth, Olive (Rolly), Marion (Albert), Eugene, Ken (Donna) and Terry. Joseph was predeceased by his parents and his seven sisters and brothers. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Service will conclude at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephs memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, STN Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
