JOHN ALEXANDER GAMBLE Passed away peacefully at his residence in Gillam, Man. on Sunday, March 4, 2001. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander Gamble and Eva May Taylor and daughter Linda Aichelle. He leaves to mourn his loving children, Joanne Desjarlais (Phil) (P.J. and Melanie), Patricia Griffith (Neil) (Jodi and Sherri), Robert Gamble (Jackie) (Garrett and Blair), Thomas Gamble (Loretta) (Shane and Jamie) son-in-law Dale Aichelle (Kerry, Hallie and Brandon). He is also survived by his sisters, Doris Smith and Francis Rosser. Also left to mourn is his wife Evelyn Gamble as well as three great-grandchildren, Traysen, Brett and Breanne. John was born on November 1, 1929 in Winnipeg. Throughout his life John worked in several different jobs in Northern Manitoba involving heavy equipment, mining and maintenance. A large part of his later years he was employed by the Local Government District of Gillam and the R.C.M.P. as a maintenance person and guard. He volunteered his services and was actively involved in the Gillam Lions Club. John was an honest and wise individual with a keen interest in his family, a true humanitarian with a particular interest in politics and social issues. He had a great sense of humour and was always willing to give advice if needed. Memorial services were held on Wednesday, March 7 at the Gillam Recreational Centre, Gillam. Also requested by the family and in lieu of flowers, friends and family wishing to make memorial donations in memory of John may do so to the Heart and Lung Foundation.
