Date of Passing: Mar 09, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA JOAN PERRY It is with heavy hearts we share with you the passing of Barbara Joan Perry, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and aunt on March 9, 2001, at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Man. Barbara was predeceased by her father Harry Perry; mother Blanche Perry and granddaughter Brandy Leanne. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Sylvia and Marlene; brothers, Joe and Dixie; her children, Sharon, Shelly, Charlene, Ken and Troy; grandchildren, Tiffany Skye, Chancellor, Richard, Mystique, Timothy, Shonee, Denise and Melissa; as well as many other family members. She will also be very sadly missed by her friends, co-workers, clients and fellow members of her union, legion and the Eagles Club. Barbara was born in 1942 in Summerside, P.E.I. and lived parts of her life in both Toronto and Lindsay, Ontario on her slow journey westward. She resided in Winnipeg for the past 13 years. She completes her journey, chasing the sunset, when she comes to her final resting place in British Columbia. Barbara realized her dream and worked proudly as a healthcare aide after several years of hard study at Red River Collegiate. She was employed at the Manitoba Deaf Centre and was President of her Union, both of which were a great source of satisfaction and joy for her. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years and a more recent member of the Eagles Club. One of her favourite pastimes was enjoying the company of friends at their bingo hall. Miss me - but let me go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared Miss me - but let me go For this is a journey we all must take And each, must go alone, Its all a part of the Masters plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart Go to the friends we know And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me - but let me go. The Family wishes to express special thanks to the Victoria General Hospital Staff and particularly Faye of 3 Medical for the kindness and comfort she gave to our mom, and to Dr. Donnelly who went above and beyond for mom and her family as well.
