STELLA OLGA LESLIE (Nee Kindrat) It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Stella Leslie. She left us peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2001 at Grace General Hospital after a short, heroic battle with cancer. Stella was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1959. She will be sadly missed by her loving son Ron; daughter Dianna (Ron) Bannister; brother Joe (Mary) Kindrat; grandchildren, Laurie (Jim DeGroot), Jennifer, Mark (Trina), Donna (Derek) Rayner; great-grandchildren, Paul, Kalyn, Jamie, Brennan, Dante and newborn Dayah Dianna Donna Raynor born Sunday, March 11 2001; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Stella was born in Rosser, Manitoba on June 3, 1915. She married Paul Leslie in October, 1936. They lived in Winnipeg all of their lives, raising their two children. She worked at Eatons for many years until her retirement in June, 1980. Stella was a very independent lady who enjoyed her home, garden, and spending time with her family. During her retirement, Stella enjoyed being a long time member of the Brooklands Seniors Club. She went on many bus trips to California, Las Vegas, Maritimes and numerous day trips to the casinos. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. also at Cropo Chapel with interment following in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stellas memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Wpg., MB R3C 2B7. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on 5 North, Emergency and Observation at Grace Hospital for their care and kindness.
