WILLIAM STARANCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Staranchuk, aged 82, with family at his side at Middlechurch Nursing Home on March 12, 2001. He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Bessie; three daughters, Cheryl, Jo-Ann and husband Gerald, Brenda and husband Neal; seven grandchildren, Brant and Monica, Kim and husband Brent, LeeAnn and husband Lorne, Clay, Cole and Chelsea and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Lexi. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters, and many, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dear son David in 1974. Dad was born in Ethelbert, Man., where he lived and farmed until his retirement. He also drove school bus for 21 years. Dad loved his farm and the great outdoors and enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, cutting firewood, bonfires, and gardening. In 1989 Dad and Mom moved to Winnipeg to be near their children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and had served overseas in the Second World War. Dad loved life and lived it to the fullest. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Home, 1020 Main St., with Rev. Deacon Walter Knysh officiating. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ethelbert Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ethelbert, Man., Rev. Fr. Bohdan Borowec officiating. Interment will follow in the Ethelbert Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Nursing Home for their care and support in the last three years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dads memory to the Middlechurch Nursing Home Court Yard where Dad loved to spend his time in the summer. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 582-0973
