ROBERT J. (BOB) WILSON July 06, 1934 - March 10, 2001 It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of our adored husband, father, grandfather and dear friend on Saturday, March 10, 2001. Bob is survived by his wife (Yvonne) of 31 years. His children, Robert V. (Kelly), Yvonne (Ron), Vicki (Dale), Margaret (Joe), Raymond, Fran (Jim), Arthur (Elaine), Richard (Kim), Viola; numerous grandchildren, Shanley, Amanda, R.J., Nicole, David, Craig, Patrick, Melissa, Cheyanne, John Robert, Prairie Dawn, Matthew, Dustin and Shalene; and great-grandson Carlo and Tyler; many nieces, nephews, comrades and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Renee Wilson; two brothers, Joe and Albert Wilson; grandchildren, Katherine Passage and Cassandra Demi Wilson; and son-in-law Floyd, husband of Viola. Bob was born on July 6, 1934 in Armstrong, ON, where he grew up until he joined the army on November 4, 1952. He was a member of Unit No. 17 Korean War Veterans Association. Bob served in Korea with the 3rd P.P.C.L.I. His fellow veterans will attend to insure he is granted the military recognition he richly deserves, from an association he held dear to his heart. After his discharge from the service, Bob obtained his certificate in Carpentry and worked a number of jobs before settling with (C.F.B.) in Winnipeg, MB. He retired after 18 years of service. Bob and Yvonne retired to Gimli, MB, where they both enjoyed family get-togethers, fishing, curling and visiting with their friends. Bob was an active member of his community and always giving of himself and assisted anyone in need. He will be sorrowfully missed by all who knew him. You will always be in our hearts. Honorary pallbearers are John Benoit, Wayne Bates, Bert Morden, Gary Benson, Valerie Bates and Donna Benson. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St., with Rev. Gordon Shields officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service.
